Welcome to my Website

So who is Lee Murphy?

I am a freelance website and graphic designer currently living in London. I'm an experienced programmer in PHP, SQL and JQuery. I design and build bespoke websites written using PHP and MySQL or by using frameworks such as Code Igniter. Some examples of work can be found in my portfolio. I also build website templates for popular content management systems such as Joomla! and Wordpress plus various E-Commerce solutions. I have a keen eye for photography too.

I believe to establish a good working relationship with clients it's great to get a feel for some of their hobbies and interests to allow me to add an individual personality to every website I build. So on that basis, here's a bit about me.

My Story

Born on sixteenth of June nineteen ninety I lived in West Sussex for eleven years before moving to the village of Uffculme; located just off junction 27 of the M5 motorway.

I studied at Uffculme Secondary School and achieved an A star grade, five A grades and five B grades. In 2003 I launched RockOnTheWeb.co.uk; a rock music website with live and studio music reviews, news and interviews with popular and upcoming bands. The website later went on to win the 2006 British Computing Society South West Schools Web Design Competition.

After school I studied A2 Levels in Business Studies, Media Studies, Computing and AS Level Psychology at Richard Huish College, Somerset. The results of which were A, B, B and A respectively.

In 2008 I became a student at the Plymouth University undergoing a degree in BSC Computing Informatics and specialising in Computing for E-Commerce and Business.

In July 2010 to July 2011 I worked for global pharmaceuticals company GlaxoSmithKline in IT at their global headquarters in London. I worked in two areas; End User and Infrastructure Support and Social Media and Collaborative Services as a business analyst. The experience earned at this company in such a short time has proved to be invaluable.

Finally in July 2012 I finished my degree at Plymouth University graduating with a First Class Honours in Computing Informatics with a Certificate of Professional Industrial Experience.

In September 2012 I returned to London where I now work for a global telecommunications company as an operations manager. Don't worry it's not all business, I still design websites at every opportunity.
